This week in The Huffington Post, NAWC Executive Director Michael Deane laid out the facts about private water’s stellar record of providing high-quality drinking water to tens of millions of Americans across the country. A recent study found that private water utilities have significantly fewer violations of the Safe Drinking Water Act than the national average.

While the EPA has strict standards about water quality and consumer reporting, the responsibility to comply with these standards is left to the utilities, something private water professionals take very seriously. In light of the Flint water crisis, Americans are paying even more attention to the quality of their water. Now and always, private water companies are committed to producing safe, reliable water and ensuring the customers they serve receive the important information they want about the quality of their drinking water.
