America’s water infrastructure is in urgent need of an upgrade, yet a recent Bluefield Research report found that overall capital investments to support repairs and replacement of this infrastructure has fallen precipitously since 2009. The truth is simple: many municipalities lack the necessary resources to proactively invest in their water systems

That is why many communities turn to water companies. The top 10 water companies in the United States invest more than $3 billion every year in community water systems – more than the U.S. government’s appropriation for the two major federal water infrastructure funding programs combined. Truth from the Tap’s latest infographic illustrates the increasing investments by America’s six largest water companies between 2015 and 2018. Combined, their investments have increased by an average of 48% to help rebuild and restore America’s water infrastructure.
